Common questions
Do I need to install an app?
No. GEOfinder works in your web browser. The other person doesn’t install anything either: they open a link on their phone.
Will the person know?
Yes. They receive a message asking them to share their location. Their location is shown to you only if they agree. This is not a tool for tracking anyone without their permission.
What phones are supported?
Any phone that can receive a text message and open a link in a browser, including iPhone and Android.
How accurate is the location?
It depends on the other person’s phone and settings, such as whether location services, GPS or Wi-Fi are on. The result is shown on a map with the nearest address details available.
Is it legal?
Asking someone to share their location, and seeing it only after they agree, is a consent-based request. Use it only with people who know you and want to share, and follow the laws where you live. See our Do’s & Don’ts.
Is it free?
HeyLocate is free. GEOfinder is a paid service: trial and subscription prices, renewal and cancellation terms are shown on GEOfinder before you pay.
Is my data safe?
This page doesn’t ask for your phone number or personal details. On GEOfinder, their own privacy policy applies. Read how HeyLocate handles data in our Privacy Policy.
